Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TaskSense, including the website, iOS app, and Android app (collectively, the "Service"). By using TaskSense, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1) Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using TaskSense, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country).
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
  • You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.

If you are using TaskSense on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2) Your Account

  • Account creation: You may sign up with email/password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In.
  • Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password.
  • Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • One account per person: Each person should maintain only one account.

3) Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create in TaskSense (tasks, lists, notes, comments, etc.).

  • License to us: By using TaskSense, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as needed to provide the Service.
  • Responsibility: You are responsible for your content. Do not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights.
  • Backup: While we work to keep your data safe, we recommend using the export feature to maintain your own backups.

4) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use TaskSense for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service at unreasonable rates.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5) Collaboration and Shared Content

TaskSense allows you to collaborate with others through shared workspaces and lists.

  • Shared content: Content you share in workspaces or lists will be visible to other members with access.
  • Invitations: When you invite someone, they will see your name and email.
  • Workspace roles: Workspace owners and admins may have additional permissions, including the ability to remove members or delete content.
  • Your responsibility: Be mindful of what you share. Do not share confidential information without proper authorization.

6) Subscriptions and Payments

Free Plan

TaskSense offers a free plan with limited features. Free plans may have restrictions on the number of tasks, lists, or collaborators.

Paid Plans (Pro and Team)

  • Billing: Paid subscriptions are available through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. Billing is handled by Apple or Google, not directly by TaskSense.
  • Pricing: Current pricing is displayed in the app stores. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.
  • Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies.

7) Intellectual Property

TaskSense and its content (including logos, design, code, text, and visuals) are owned by TaskSense or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written permission.
  • You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.

8) Third-Party Services

TaskSense integrates with third-party services:

  • Authentication: Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, Firebase Authentication
  • Infrastructure: Google Firebase (database, hosting, functions)
  • Notifications: OneSignal (push notifications on mobile)
  • App stores: Apple App Store, Google Play Store

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9) Service Availability

  • We strive to keep TaskSense available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

10) Termination

  • By you: You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. This will delete your data and cancel any active subscriptions (though you should also cancel through the app store).
  • By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful behavior, or for other reasons at our discretion.
  • Effect of termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may delete your data after a reasonable period.

11) Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

  • warranties of merchantability,
  • fitness for a particular purpose,
  • non-infringement,
  • accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Service.

We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your requirements, be error-free, or be available at all times.

12) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaskSense and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for:

  • any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages,
  • any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill,
  • any damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service,
  • any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim arose.

13) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaskSense and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • your use of the Service,
  • your violation of these Terms,
  • your violation of any third-party rights,
  • your content.

14) Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:

  • We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
  • For significant changes, we may notify you through the app or by email.
  • Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15) General

  • Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TaskSense.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
  • No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
